Iraq’s revolution started in the summer of 1920 with huge popular protests against the British #occupation and the implementation of the Indianisation plan in the country as a prelude to annex Iraq to Britain. The protests spread to the lower and central parts of the Euphrates areas with Karbala being a center of protests. Iraqi #Sunni and #Shia communities joined hands during the uprising.
