In 1975, on the orders of President Gerald Ford a plan was formulated to sterilize women in 13 third world countries in no more than 25 years. In 1977, it was revealed that the universities of Washington and Johns Hopkins took part in a plan to sterilize 570 million women (a quarter of the world’s women in fertility age).
